Preparing for a shoot

I've only touched on this subject before, as I've been trying to get as much down in a short space of the actual shoot and how I think as I'm shooting.

I was looking at doing a post purely on the pre-preparation for a shoot just to show how much work and thinking goes into this before the actual day, however... I have been beaten to it by David "lord strobist himself" Hobby with a blog post on his preparation for a recent magazine cover shoot

Although at some point I will talk through my preparation for one of my shoots in more detail, I think the insight from this post is more detailed than I could ever write. From reading it, it's nice to know I'm on the same train of thought for the preparation but there a few things that have made me think "hmmm I really should be doing that".
